The Life Skills Experience
The Links Course at Paso Robles has over 120 youngsters seeking certification in the Life Skills curriculum. Program director, Bart Ellerbroek wrapped up a successful season on October 1st with 54 students becoming Par certified and seven Birdie certifications. We look forward to the experienced students returning next season and focusing our outreach to draw new students into the program.

Program Developments
The First Tee Central Coast is participating in a national research project by an academic research team from University Nevada Las Vegas to evaluate the efficacy of the Life Skills program.
The research data will provide a platform to promote the positive contributions of the Life Skills program to federal and private agencies, improve the operations of the program and identify effective traits of The First Tee Coach. Specific questions in the research include the degree to which interpersonal skills, self-management, and goal-setting have been learned by The First Tee students.
